Olympus announced the stylish new entry-level Olympus PEN E-PL8 pocket mirrorless camera at Photokina 2016
Olympus has made the camera slightly shorter than its E-PL7 predecessor, and with a smaller grip and slimmer body. However, the PEN E-PL8 retains the same 16.1-megapixel sensor, 3-axis mechanical image stabilization, and tiltable 3-inch LCD touchscreen. The new model is also geared for selfies with its 180-degree flip-touch LCD. Selfie mode automatically kicks in when the LCD is flipped down. The camera is also geared for more creative photography via the new Olympus Image Palette (OI.Palette) smartphone and tablet app. And there is built-in Wi-Fi for remote shooting and uploading and sharing to wherever you need your photos to go.
The new PEN E-PL8 packs stunning image quality and creative control into a camera designed with the sophisticated, stylish shooter in mind
Re-enforcing Olympus’ penchant for stylish design and individual expression, the E-PL8 will come in three different color options: white, black and brown. Head over to the Olympus website for all details.
According to Olympus, the body will retail for US$549.99 and will also be available as a kit with the 14-42mm lens for US$649.99. It will be in the stores in October 2016.
